The Chimera was used in Thrawn's attempt to conquer the Earth but it was ultimately destroyed when the asteroid, originally headed for Earth, was diverted towards the stardestroyer instead. The ship was destroyed in a terrific explosion sometime after Thrawn was killed by Totallyevil.

The Fight of the Century of the Week

The Chimera is maintaining orbit around the Earth as Grand Admiral Thrawn is forced to wait for Ares, the God of War on Earth, to finish his duels so that Thrawn could attack the heroes[NeS1 3]. Ultimately Thrawn decides to attack Ares' Colosseum and the heroes with the ship's contingent of Rabbit Walkers[NeS1 1].
