Italy

Italy is a country on Earth that is part of the European Union and is found in southern Europe, jutting into the Mediterranean Sea. It first came to prominence in the world as the homeland for the Roman Empire, where the city of Rome itself is located, but would continue its importance through both military, social and economic means throughout much of the world's history.
