The Company Kid is a title once bestowed upon the official sidekick to The Patriot. After the death of The Patriot the Company Kid became the sidekick of the whole team. Company Kids were renowned for having very short life-spans until Benjamin Mahir took on the role. He has been one of the longest surviving Company Kids to the point that Dr R. Deep has suggested Mahir take on a new mantle instead.

Benjamin Mahir once unofficially joined the NeS Heroes but he was later selected by Hero Force One to join them and become Company Kid after the death of the previous one. He was very reluctant but was eventually pressed into service. Possibly due to his inherent cowardice and ability to turn into a rat (meaning he can escape more easily) Benjamin Mahir has survived longer than any other Company Kid (citations needed).
