Carlotta the Cape is a sentient red cape that was once worn by Soriel the swordsman but was later given to Losien Simon before Soriel ultimately died. Soriel's sword, Fred teh Uber Blade, has long been sentient and communicated with Soriel. The cape, however, seemed to develop sentience at a later date (or simply never revealed herself). Only the wearer of Carlotta can hear her, though other inanimate sentient objects, such as Fred, can also hear her.
